I have a PDF of about 30 pages and need to remove a few blank and duplicate ones before sending it off tomorrow. I’m on a Windows laptop and don’t want to buy or subscribe to anything just for this, so is there a free way?
had the same thing last month with a planner file. i just open it in edge, hit print, pick microsoft print to pdf, and only print the pages i actually want. skip the blanks in the page range box. tbh it takes a minute but works without installing anything.
If the PDF isn’t sensitive, a browser-based editor can delete pages without installing anything. For an offline option on Windows, PDF24 Creator is free and lets you reorder or remove pages, then save a new copy. Open the file, use its page organizer, select the blank or duplicate thumbnails, and delete them. Keep the original until you’ve checked the exported PDF.
PDFsam Basic is my go to for this, totally free and open source, and it works offline so your file never leaves your laptop. Open the PDF, use the split or delete pages tool, tick the blank and duplicate ones, and run it. I use it at the help desk all the time when students need to trim scanned handouts before emailing them out. You’ll definately have it done tonight.
If you’ve got a printer installed (even just “Microsoft Print to PDF”), open the file, select the pages you want to keep in the print dialogue, and print to a new PDF. Tip: keep the original file untouched until you’ve checked the new one. Avoid online “free” converters, half of them watermark or hold your file hostage.
