How can I check the standard pdf page size on my phone?

I need to check whether a PDF is A4 or US Letter before printing, but my phone only displays the file storage size. How do I view the actual page dimensions on mobile?

had the same thing last month with my planner pdfs. i would just open the file and tap print, it usually defaults to the real page size so you can tell a4 from letter. google drive on the phone has a little i for details too, worth a look. tbh mobile is annoying for this compared to a computer.

Open the PDF in Xodo, tap the three-dot menu, then File Info or Properties and check “Page size.” A4 is 210 x 297 mm; Letter is 8.5 x 11 inches. Avoid online checkers for sensitive files; menu wording may differ on iPhone.

@guitar_fan The properties route works, though on my phone I just open it in the built-in Files app, tap the file name, and the info panel shows the page size. Otherwise the print preview trick is reliable: A4 previews taller and narrower than Letter. Did the properties screen show it for you?

We get this one alot at the help desk right before everyone prints assignments. Easiest way on your phone:

  1. Grab the free Adobe Acrobat Reader app.
  2. Open the PDF, tap the three dot menu, then Document Properties.
  3. It shows the page size right there.

A4 is 210 x 297 mm and Letter is 8.5 x 11 in, so whichever number is close tells you what you’ve got.
