My assignment portal needs a PDF under 100 KB, but my work is saved as a JPG. Can I convert it and meet that limit without making the writing unreadable?
had the same thing last month. i resized the jpg first in paint to something like 800px wide so it wasn’t massive, then put it in word and did save as pdf. fwiw that kept my writing readable and came in around 80kb. if it’s still big try making the image a tad smaller.
That 100 KB limit is brutal, I see this exact problem at the help desk every semester. Try this:
- First shrink the JPG itself, re-save it at lower quality or resize it to about 1200 px wide (even Paint can do this).
- Convert to PDF with something like ilovepdf.
- Still too big? Run the PDF through a compressor on the higher setting.
Switching to grayscale helps a ton too, and handwriting usually stays readable at 150 dpi.
