# How can I reduce PDF size to less than 1 MB?

I have a scanned contract that’s about 3 MB and the upload portal only accepts files under 1 MB. How do I get it smaller without ruining the quality?

had the same issue last month. i opened the pdf and used the print function to save it as a new pdf, sometimes that compresses it enough. tbh for a scan you might need to accept a tiny quality drop but it should still be clear. fwiw try that before doing anything else.
