1. Know Your Rubik’s Cube Better

In the beginning, you must familiarize yourself with the cube. Recognize where each color lies, and notice that red, white and blue are on one side, while green, orange and yellow are on the other.

We look at the solved cube in this case, and that is where the focus is. Pay attention to all the sides and check out each color on the sides.

2. Start with Centers

There are 2x2 centres in each face so that you can start with these parts. You can see the white centre, where you can start. Solve it while paying attention to red and blue centres.

Turn the cube on the other side and find the last matching color. Turn it to the lower right corner, just like the previous one. Now, complete the centre with these moves;

  • Inside right layer clockwise once
  • Outside up layer clockwise once
  • Inside right layer counter-clockwise once

Repeat the process with the two remaining centres, so they turn out the same.

4. Match the Edge Pairings 

At this point, pay attention to the edge pieces between two corners. They fit right next to each other. You will see red/green pairing here.

Position these two edge pieces on the same cube’s face, then on opposite ends of the face while showing opposite colors. You will see a white dot on each cube’s face.

It’s time to complete the edge pairing. Make the sequence like this;

  • Outside up layer clockwise once
  • Inside up layer clockwise once
  • Outside right layer clockwise once
  • Outside up layer counter-clockwise once
  • Outside right layer counter-clockwise once
  • Outside up layer counter-clockwise once
  • Inside up layer counter-clockwise once

Repeat the sequence with other pairs until you see there are only two unmatched pairs left.

5. Complete the Last Two Pairs 

Here, you can see that blue and yellow pairs square to the opposite sides of the green pair. This is where the last algorithm can start. Make the following moves;

  • Outside down layer clockwise once
  • Inside down layer clockwise once
  • Outside right layer clockwise once
  • Outside front layer counter-clockwise once
  • Outside up layer clockwise once
  • Outside right layer counter-clockwise once
  • Outside front layer clockwise once
  • Outside down layer counter-clockwise once
  • Inside down layer counter-clockwise once

With the last move, you should have all the centres and edges solved. That’s it. You solved the cube!
